High-speed broadband provider Hyperoptic has confirmed it will begin offering 1GBit/s services to businesses in the next few months as its targets firms wanting the highest possible connections available.
The firm, which began operating in September 2011, has already started offering its services into large residential blocks, and intends to start targeting businesses, both with either direct connections or housed in multi-tenancy units, in the coming months.
The firm's chairman and founder Boris Ivanovic told V3 the services would be available soon and should have a huge appeal as they will be far faster than other services on the market.
"The services we are now provide to residents are better than 99 per cent of the connections being used by businesses in the UK, so there is little that we need to do in order to satisfy this demand," he said.
"How many businesses can claim to have two milliseconds latency and 1Gbit/s or even 100Mbit/s throughput? This is a market that we are going to address."
Ivanovic also revealed the firm has between 200 to 300 more residential projects "in the pipeline" that will be announced throughout the year and said this will have a benefit for home workers.
"The ability to run full HD video tool such as Skype or other teleconferencing services or conduct large file-transfers quickly will be of huge benefit," he said.
V3 was also shown a speed test of the 1Gbit/s service that was recently installed in Hyperoptic's offices in Shepherd's Bush, which recorded a staggering 754Mbit/s download and 527Mbit/s upload result (pictured below).

The services the firm currently offers include an upload and download service on the 1Gbit/s connections for £50 a month, a 100Mbit/s symmetrical service for £20 a month and a 20Mbit/s service, with a 1Mbit/s upload, for £12.50 a month.
