Business intelligence software firm Cognos has bought performance-based consulting company Softa in a bid to strengthen its presence in the corporate performance management (CPM) and customer service markets.
The deal sees Cognos acquire Oxford-based Softa's flagship 'LivingStrategy' methodology, designed to aid the development and implementation of strategic formulas and key performance indicator measurements.
Rob Ashe, Cognos president and chief operating officer, said the purchase aimed to help the firm address the strategic performance management requirements of its clients.
"The acquisition of Softa enhances our CPM solution with proven expertise in helping companies link strategy to execution across the enterprise," he said.
"We have long regarded Cognos as the world leader in CPM solutions," added Steve Arnold, chief executive office at Softa, in a statement.
