EBay has expanded the PayPal coverage it offers to buyers, and has launched a new programme for sellers.
The eBay Live incentive programme is designed to reward better customer service from vendors.
Users who have earned the Power Seller branding, and have earned a rating of 4.9 in each of eBay's seller categories, will receive a 20 per cent discount on sales commission from the site.
EBay will also offer qualifying sellers an additional discount on UPS shipping costs for sold items.
Buyers, meanwhile, will be offered full coverage on all purchased items, meaning that customers will receive 100 per cent of their money back should a transaction go awry.
PayPal coverage will also be extended for sellers, relieving them of any liability should an unauthorised or fraudulent payment be made.
EBay hopes that the moves will boost the confidence of both buyers and sellers as the summer and holiday shopping seasons approach.
"We are combining the power of eBay and PayPal to give all buyers and sellers more confidence and trust," said Lorrie Norrington, president of marketplace operations at eBay.
"Buyers who pay with PayPal on eBay will be covered, with no limits, on most transactions.
"Any seller who gets paid with PayPal will be covered on most transactions too, and can ship to 190 countries worldwide where PayPal is accepted."
Do you agree?

New eBay Search Layout
Hi,
You may have noticed that eBays search page layout has changed recently, and that the opt-out function to keep the old layout is being removed in four weeks time.
If you've not seen it yet you can check it out at playground.ebay.co.uk/. It's based around lots and lots of very annoying pop up java windows. It looks and feels like an interface that's in Alpha testing, let alone a finished product.
This topic has caused a massive stink in the eBay community over the past couple of days, and if you use eBay a lot and this really annoys you, and you would like to keep the old layout, or at least keep the option to opt out of the new layout then maybe you'd like to sign this petition.

Hope you don't mind me posting this here, but we need to get as many signitures as possible.
