Autonomy unveils Arcpliance tool

Arcpliance uses Autonomy's Intelligent Data Operating Layer to ensure data integrity

Enterprise search and retrieval firm Autonomy has announced the availability of a new archiving tool pitched at firms looking to make sense of archived material regardless of its location.

Autonomy Arcpliance is based on a number of existing systems, and uses the firm's Intelligent Data Operating Layer to ensure the integrity of data, and remove the risk of de-duplication and formatting errors.

Autonomy said that this would help companies to achieve compliance requirements, and reduce the time associated with backups, administration, software upgrades and technical reports.

"With over a decade of experience in tackling some of the world's most complex archiving challenges, there is not a scenario, data type or business case that we have not successfully covered," said Mike Sullivan, chief executive at Autonomy Zantaz.

"Autonomy Arcpliance delivers world-class technology and expertise in an easy-to-install, turnkey appliance. We see a significant market that is ready to 'turn on' Autonomy archiving with the Arcpliance box."

Arcpliance can archive all data types, according to the firm, including email, audio, applications and SharePoint files. The system uses Autonomy's split-cell architecture to make sense of the files, and ensure that Arcpliance can meet the demands of these new media.

UK pricing for Autonomy Arcpliance has yet to be confirmed.
