Home workers could benefit from a new consumer device from Vodafone designed to boost mobile phone signals and combat the problem of poor indoor coverage.
The Vodafone Access Gateway is a small plug-in box that the firm claims will "significantly improve" mobile phone signals in the home.
Available in store and online from 1 July, the router-sized box plugs straight into the home broadband line and will work with all 3G handsets, supporting four calls at a time, according to Vodafone.
"The Vodafone Access Gateway will boost indoor mobile phone coverage for customers who have to move around their home to get a consistent signal strength," said Ian Shepherd, consumer director at Vodafone UK.
"We are committed to delivering the best and most reliable network, and this is another step towards maintaining a seamless service."
After ordering the Gateway, customers simply register the phone numbers they want to use with the device.
The Gateway is available as part of an inclusive price plan from £15 a month, or as a one-off purchase for £160 or a monthly charge from £5.
