Business process management firm Cordys has announced the general availability of Business Operations Platform (BOP-4).
The platform is designed to help companies through troublesome systems implementations or necessary change, and can be delivered as a fully hosted service, an online deployment, or as a hybrid of the two.
BOP-4 adds a number of new features, including a collaborative workspace which uses Web 2.0-type functionality as a means of communicating with the IT team, and tools designed to speed up the rate of change.
Cordys said that managers could use the system to monitor, update or improve business processes on the fly, or model likely scenarios and play them out in a real-time environment.
The combination of Web 2.0 and cloud technologies had created "a set of tools that allows any organisation to mix and match existing on-premise processes run on enterprise software with components and applications made available on the web", the firm explained.
Jan Baan, chief executive and chairman at Cordys, added: "BOP-4 is the ideal solution for businesses looking to leverage existing investments in enterprise software and legacy systems. The Cordys solution allows you to isolate existing IT assets, build new processes on top of that, and continuously monitor the entire enterprise."
