Adobe has made its Acrobat Connect Pro enterprise web conferencing mobile application available for the iPhone and iPod touch.
The announcement means that iPhone owners can use the application to participate in Connect Pro meetings, training sessions and web seminars, and access other forms of information, the firm said.
Adobe claimed that Acrobat Connect Pro also enables participants to watch and listen to live presentations such as real-time webcam video and screen-sharing demonstrations, while mobile users can collaborate using live chat.
Meeting hosts will also be able to give participants the option to join a telephone conference call, or have the conference dial out to the mobile user to eliminate the need to enter dialling codes.
Adobe explained that the application uses Flash Professional CS5 beta, published as a native iPhone app, and is the first Adobe-authored application using Packager for iPhone technology.
The new functionality also means that designers can use Adobe's Flash authoring tools for the iPhone, something which Adobe outlined in a speech last year when it demonstrated how developers could use the Flash Professional CS5 beta to export applications for the iPhone.
The announcement follows several reports in recent weeks that Apple chief executive Steve Jobs had voiced his disdain for Flash, describing it as a "CPU hog" and confirming that the upcoming iPad will not use the technology.
