Nvidia has unveiled its GeForce FX 5900 series of graphics processing units, proclaiming them as "the industry's fastest graphics processors".
Based on the GeForce FX architecture, the GeForce FX 5900 GPU has a 0.13micron architecture for high clock frequencies, 256-bit memory interface and Nvidia's CineFX 2.0 engine with second-generation pixel shaders.
The processors also feature 128-bit colour precision and support the latest Microsoft DirectX 9.0 and OpenGL feature sets.

"With the new GeForce FX 5900 series, gamers can experience games at the highest resolutions with the highest visual quality, and know they have the best platform for upcoming cinematic applications such as Doom3.

The GeForce FX 5900 Ultra will be unveiled for the first time at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) this week in Los Angeles.
