An Italian jobcentre is spamming mobile phone users in a bid to advertise its vacancies.
The Genoa branch of the state employment agency started the spam campaign after staff could not find enough people to fill jobs as welders.
Staff sent out 1,000 text messages on mobile numbers they obtained from the personal records held by other local authorities.
Officials were enthusiastic with the response and plan to send out more to help fill other posts.
So far, officials say, no one has complained about the unrequested texts.
