Mobile phone virus could go global in minutes

Security experts have reported that they are analysing what is believed to be the first mobile phone virus able to replicate via Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS).
The malicious code, dubbed CommWarrior, runs on the Symbian Series 60 smartphone operating system and can spread using multimedia messages that include an image, audio or video which is sent from one phone to another or by email.
"Phone viruses so far have been spreading over Bluetooth, so they only affect phones that are within a few metres. A MMS virus can potentially go global in minutes, just like an email worm," warned F-Secure's antivirus laboratory.
F-Secure said that it will post more detailed analysis on CommWarrior after investigating the code more closely.

I got and removed the Virus
It tryed to send Obscene messages to people in a 10 meter range - bluetooth, and also mms. I downloaded a symbian antivirus program, and it got rid of the Trojan Tracker

My N70 got infected by Commwarrior. Just go into your applications and delete it. Easy

If you get this virus first u must delete it from the APPLICATIONS section of your phone and then download F-CommWarrior. Install it to your phone and you will be fine. If you have CommWarrior it will be in the applications section of your phone. When/if you get it take your SIM out until you have downloaded F-CommWarrior or it will send messages and they will NOT appear in your send box, but will still cost you alot.

keep your bluetooth turned on, take your memory card out of its slot, type in on your phone: *#7370#
it will ask if you want to reset your phone, choose yes..(make sure you have backed up ur files, ur music and woteva u need, the security code should be 12345 unles you hav changed it, not a good idea to change this mind..your mobile wil restart and your mobile should be free and clear, everything that was on your mobile..will be gone..DO NOT PUT YOUR MEMORY CARD BACK IN THE MOBILE, GET A CARD READER 4 THE CARD UR USIN, FORMAT THE MEMORY CARD, ALSO TRY BACKING UP THE FILES< DO THIS ON YOUR COMPUTER, IF THE VIRUS GOES ON YOUR COMPUTER IT CANT DO ANYTHING, it is only designed for mobiles, after formating the memory card, put it back ion the slot and you should be free of the virus..AND REMEBER, NEVER EVER KEEP YOUR BLUETOOTH ON UNLESS U R USING IT, THIS SHOULD BE A LESSON, PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU NEED ANY FURTHER HELP: fahimtm@hotmail.com
