Magix casts transfer-to-digital spell

Home movie enthusiasts and music fans wanting to transfer videos and old music collections to a digital format have two more products to choose from following FastTrak's release of two new software packages from Magix.

Movie Edit Pro 2005 is the second version of FastTrak's editing suite, allowing users to convert videos and edit them using 1,400 effects and templates.

The software can convert film to widescreen format and has ready-prepared story boards for a variety of home movie plot lines.

It can also be used to turn a PC into a video recorder, allowing TV viewing to be burnt onto DVD, and includes an application to remove adverts from recorded programmes.

Meanwhile, for those looking to convert records and tapes to digital formats, Audio Cleaning Lab 2005 was also released today. Old music media can be played into the PC, then cleaned up digitally to reduce pops and crackles. The end result can then be burnt onto CD or DVD.

The two packages cost £49.99 and £19.99 respectively (inc. VAT), although a deluxe version of Audio Cleaning Lab 2005, with transmission cables, CD cover printing software and unlimited MP3 encoding, is available for £29.99.
