IBM has launched new software designed to provide organisations with a centralised point to administer and monitor user identities, and manage access to corporate IT systems.
The latest version of Tivoli Identity Manager could help organisations reduce costs by tying together role, entitlement and identity management, separation of duties and access certification capabilities.
The product simplifies identity and access management by enabling roles-based user access and fine-grained authorisations, and includes reporting functionality which is vital for compliance and auditing, according to IBM.
"What our clients need is security technology that manages which people have access to certain information in a way that clearly follows defined roles and responsibilities within an organisation's policies," said Venkat Raghavan, director of security, risk and compliance at IBM Tivoli.
"Integrating governance and provisioning within IBM's identity and access management software simplifies user administration and compliance controls for our clients, while at the same time guarding against security threats."
