Yahoo has announced the purchase of yet another user-generated media service in the shape of online video-editing site Jumpcut.
Jumpcut offers a set of web-based tools allowing users to edit and share videos and slideshows.
"Joining forces with Yahoo Video will provide the resources to bring Jumpcut users and our partners more great social media experiences," says a statement on the Jumpcut website.
Users can expect "more creators, more content and more exciting things to do, faster and on a larger scale".
This latest Yahoo acquisition comes a week after the launch of the Yahoo Current Network in partnership with CurrentTV.
Jumpcut, which is based in San Francisco, was launched in April. The site joins bookmark-sharing site del.icio.us and photo-sharing site Flickr as part of Yahoo's "social media" group of sites.
Terms of the Jumpcut deal were not disclosed.
