Boston researchers have developed a computer screen on a pair of Star Trek-like glasses.
MicroOptical has built what it has dubbed "the world's smallest computer screen". The device looks like something that Star Trek chief engineer, Geordi LaForge, would wear.
MicroOptical's chief executive officer, Mark Spitzer, said it would be possible to use the glasses to surf the net or watch DVDs.
The shades of the future plug into a Walkman-sized mini-computer and could be on sale as soon as next year.
They are currently on display at the Society for Information Display International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition in Boston.
