Oracle has released a new tool to help model and present data. SQL Developer Data Modeler will allow developers to translate database contents into diagrams, graphics, and other visual interpretations.
The new tool is available immediately as part of the SQL Developer package, and Oracle hopes that it will allow developers to more clearly visualise and present database contents and ease the process of managing data.
"Every successful application starts with a strong data model," said Mike Hichwa, Oracle's vice president of software development.
"Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler not only provides a graphical way to develop data models, but an effective way to communicate existing data models to application developers."
The tool is being offered for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux systems, and will support Oracle Database 10g and 11g.
