Hot on the heels of last weeks web-enabled Lego brick, another geek has set out to do the nerdiest thing possible with Lego. This time it's a digital audio tape loader.
The creator of the loader, going only by the name of Lizard Boy, presumably to protect his less geeky life, said: "This is for the Lego loving computer geek with large back up needs.
"It can be interfaced with any platform supporting Lego Mindstorms. I have used it with Mac OSX and Linux using dump and NQC [Not Quite C] with some custom shell scripts. It also works under a Mac OS 9 using Retrospect and RCX."
Aside from being incredibly colourful, the Lego tape loader can press the eject button on non-automatic tape drives and then move the tape up to a small library tower for storage.
Pictures of this invention can be seen here.
