This is the default backdrop you will see when the PC starts up and whenever all windows are closed. The toolbar at the top auto-hides when not in use.

The m_zone acts as a home screen and is divided into three sections, showing upcoming activities and favourite applications on the left, recent files and web sites in the middle and social network updates on the right.

The default browser is based on Google's Chrome engine, however the option to use Mozilla's Firefox is included as well.

The Media pane provides a full list of all movies, music and images as well as a search bar. A playlist is due to be included in future revisions.

Applications are broken down into their various categories.

All the basic settings can be accessed from the bottom of the application page.

Zones provides the option of using several virtual desktops to help separate and manage different tasks.

Basic functions like power, brightness, volume and network connections can be accessed from the right hand side of the toolbar.

Intel has extended its reach into the netbook market with the release of the Moblin 2.0 beta, a Linux-based operating system designed for netbooks and nettops.
Working together with Novell, the chip maker has released a beta version of the platform, optimised for use with its Atom processors.

Now this is how an operating system should be. Somewhat similar to the Asus ExpressGate ROM included on their latest laptops and motherboards.
