Dell has added to its Inspiron range with an Apple-like mini desktop unit described as capable, powerful and stylish.
The Inspiron Zino HD measures about 197mm square and 89mm tall, and comes with a choice of AMD processors, up to 8GB of DDR2 memory, and 1TB of internal hard disk storage. It also includes a Blu-ray player, wireless remote control and other media friendly features.
The unit can be customised depending on end user need and, although it is pitched at consumers, could find its way into more style- and fashion-conscious enterprises.
The Zino HD comes with an integrated ATI adapter with HDMI and VGA video connections, as well as four USB ports and two eSATA ports.
Dell is offering a choice of nine colours, and the unit can be preinstalled with Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional. The PC is also Energy-Star 5.0 compliant.
"The Inspiron Zino HD proves again that great things really can come in small packages," said David Clifton, director of consumer marketing for Dell Europe.
"It is a fashionable and functional computer that is small enough to fit almost anywhere and can be personalised for the style-minded."
The Zino HD starts at the £250 mark for the entry level model.
