Twitter has introduced a new feature called Hovercards that allows users to quickly access the details of other users by hovering over their contact names.
A pop-out card will provide profile information, location and whether the account has been officially verified by Twitter, and an option for the contact to be followed or blocked.
The new cards will save Twitter users time when viewing tweet streams as they will no longer have to surf away from their home page to find a tweeter's profile information.
"Because many of you use Twitter to read and write tweets, we've been spending some time focusing on ways to improve your experience on the site," said Twitter's Jenna Dawn in a blog post.
"One way we've found these cards to be useful is to find out more about re-tweeted people and follow them right there."
Hovercards will be rolled out in stages, so not all Twitter users will see the feature immediately.
Twitter updated its Suggested User list two weeks ago, in another move to improve the user experience.
