Napster clone Audiogalaxy is the latest legal target of US music trade group the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), in its long-running battle against file swapping.
The RIAA issued a writ in the federal court in New York, claiming that Audiogalaxy has not been able to filter access to copyrighted songs allowing a Napster-like free-for-all.
According to the RIAA, more than 470 copyrighted works could be downloaded using Audiogalaxy.
Audiogalaxy software has been downloaded at least 30 million times and has only survived a previous writ by claiming it could filter out copyrighted tracks.
Also in the RIAA's sights are Napster, Morpheus, Kazaa, Grokster, MP3Board and Madster.
