Text can be displayed in landscape as well as portrait mode depending on the document orientation and the user's preference.

Content can be navigated through a circular four-way navigation pad below the screen and a large icon-based interface.

There are eight zoom levels available allowing users to view the entire page on the screen or zoom right in to ensure that everything is easy to read without eye strain.

Users with poor eyesight, or when dealing with small text, can zoom in, with text auto-formatted to best fit the screen.

The units come in a range of colours and the e-ink display is capable of rendering images as well as text.

Users can load their own content onto the device or new books can be bought and downloaded from the Cool-er online library.

Most options, including bookmarking and navigation can be accessed from within any document.

Cool-er is a lesser known player in the e-book reader market, but recently snapped up a major win, partnering with Google to launch what it says is the biggest online e-book store, being more than 40 times larger than Waterstones and six times bigger than Amazon's Kindle store.
The company reckons that, within the next five or six years, a quarter of the UK population will own an e-reader each of which will be able to store as many books as are in the British Library.
The Cool-er reader was on display at a recent event in London.
