Microsoft is planning to release 10 bulletins addressing 34 vulnerabilities in next week's Patch Tuesday security update.
The company said in the advance notification for the 8 June security release that it will patch flaws in Windows, Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office.
Three of the 10 bulletins patch vulnerabilities rated as 'critical', the highest of Microsoft's security alert levels.
Two of the critical security fixes target components of Windows, while the third addresses flaws in Internet Explorer 6, 7 and 8. All three vulnerabilities could allow for remote code execution.
The bulletins maintain a 'critical' risk level for Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7. Systems running Windows Server 2003 and 2008 face a critical risk only for one of the Windows bulletins, while the second Windows patch and the Internet Explorer patch are considered 'moderate' risks for these systems.
The remaining seven bulletins address issues rated as 'important', and include four fixes for Windows and three for Office.
The seven bulletins remedy vulnerabilities which, if exploited could lead to attacks which include remote code execution, elevation of privileges and tampering with targeted systems.
Microsoft will post an update for the Windows Malicious Software Removal tool.
