According to the company Version 5.0 represents the first major overhaul of the product suite for two and a half years.
Tivoli Identity Manager Version 5.0 automates new account setups and offers users the ability to reset their passwords without the need for time-consuming assistance from support staff. Version 5.0 also monitors for any unauthorised changes.
"Identity and Access Management has become the necessary foundation for which broad risk management strategies are developed at organizations around the world," said Venkat Raghavan, director of strategy, IBM Tivoli security and storage software.
"Out-of-the-box" wizards and templates have been added aimed at increasing deployment speeds and reducing the learning curve for new users. The company claims the addition of these features will lead to an estimated 50 percent reduction in deployment time compared to previous releases.
Pricing for TIM 5.0 is priced on a per user or per processor basis.
