Apple has paid its chief executive Steve Jobs more than $1.2m (£750,000) for the use of a Gulfstream V jet the company bought for him two years ago.
According to the San Jose Mercury News, the jet was bought for $90m (£56m) as part of a package to lure Jobs, who has always made much of the fact that his salary from Apple is just $1 a year, back to a more active involvement in the company.
The disclosure was made in Apple's quarterly report filed with the Securities Exchange Commission, which shows that Jobs was paid $84,000 (£52,000) during the last financial quarter for the company's use of his private jet.
Before that, Apple claimed to have paid Jobs $1.16m (£620,000) for his use of the jet since he received it in May 2001. In the past the company has said the plane saves Apple time and money.
