Security application developer CoSoSys has released a new endpoint application that it claims can prevent data loss and theft using Apple devices.
My Endpoint Protector is a software-as-a-service app pitched at business and home users that want to ensure the security of their data.
CoSoSys said that the application provides individual users or administrators with real-time control and monitoring.
Combined, it said, this should prevent a range of issues from malware infection to identity theft.
The inclusion of Apple device support has extended the capabilities of the security software, CoSoSys said, and adds to its controls over USB sticks, hard drives and smartphones.
Remote access and control, the firm said, means that whether the user is in the office, or away from it, they can use their Apple product to protect their networks against suspicious activity.
"Lifestyle devices such as USB Flash drives, mobile phones and portable computers started out as being smaller, portable and a lot more fun than their static predecessors, while fulfilling our need of communication," said Roman Foeckl, chief executive at CoSoSys.
"As they evolved, getting smarter and smaller, they have also changed our lifestyle. So why not go with the trend and offer the possibility of doing more important tasks from our mobile devices, such as handling the security of a business network or that of our home computers?"
My Endpoint Protector will let users manage their business or home computers through a console which is available through iTunes.
