Intel has unveiled a software tool that lets developers design applications that make optimal use of the multi-threading and dual-core capabilities of the Intel processors powering Apple's latest computers.
Developers can download beta versions of Intel's Fortran Compiler, C++ compiler, the Math Kernel Library and Integrated Performance Primitives free of charge from the Intel website here.
The Intel tool works in conjunction with Apple's Xcode software developer kit and is designed to improvie code performance for the Intel processor. The Intel software has been ported over to work on the OS X operating system.
While the Intel beta is free, users will be required to pay a licence fee for the final product once it becomes available in the second quarter of this year.
