German PC manufacturer Medion is to launch a rebadged version of the MSI Wind mini-notebook, joining 11 other companies.
The Medion Akoya Mini E1210 will be released on 7 September through Aldi stores.
The fact that the notebook is being sold through Aldi is a reflection of its price. At £279.99 it comes in at less than similar releases from other large vendors and stores, and the price belies what looks like a capable device.
The Medion Akoya Mini 10in Notebook E1210 is pitched by the firm at businesses and consumers alike, and is being touted as a do-all machine.
It offers wireless, IP telephony, Windows XP Home Edition, a larger screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 and an Intel Atom chip.
Medion first announced the notebook at the IFA show late last month, but last night advertisements for it started appearing on the Medion and Aldi web sites.
Aldi does not take pre-orders, and it is likely that the device could sell out quickly.
