Yahoo has added a set of new features to its Boss search service. The company said on Thursday that it would be extending the Boss programme to include new sources and better organisational capabilities.
Introduced last July, the Boss tool allows web developers to access Yahoo search APIs and build custom search services for their sites. By the end of last year, the company estimated that boss was powering some 10 million queries per day.
Yahoo now hopes to extend the service by adding connectivity with bookmarking site Delicious, improved language functionality with the addition of Czech, Hungarian and traditional Chinese languages, and the ability to sort results by days, weeks or hours.
The company hopes that the expansion of Boss will help the service continue to grow and give developers new options for how it can be used.
"These new additions will empower Boss developers with more insight into their search results to build unique search experiences," said Yahoo Boss developer Ashim Chhabra in a blog post.
