Fuji has launched three new digital cameras this month, including a 4.3-megapixel model.
The Super CCD technology used on the FinePix 4700 is exclusive to Fujifilm and it crams 4.3 million pixels onto a 1.7in CCD to give an image resolution of 2400x1800. The CCD's increased sensitivity also means that the 4700 has an equivalent ISO rating of 800, allowing the camera to be used in dim lighting conditions without the flash.
The 4700 also has a six-element 3x optical zoom lens - equivalent to 36-108mm on a 35mm camera - with an f2.8 aperture. The camera can capture up to 80 seconds of AVI video and audio on SmartMedia cards and runs on two AA batteries. It costs £699.99.
Fuji's other models are the 1.3-megapixel FinePix 1400 Zoom and MX-1200, costing £349.99 and 249.99 respectively. Both have resolutions of 1280x960 and a built-in flash.
