Freedom2Surf tunes in to IPTV

Broadband ISP Freedom2Surf has signed an agreement to offer its subscribers internet TV services. 

The IPTV service will be provided by Aggregator, a pay-TV platform that serves multiple devices including PCs and hybrid set-top boxes. 

Aggregator promises on-demand delivery of niche content to specialist interest communities currently underserved by the television market. Initial offerings include programmes for Russian expatriates living in the UK.

The company promises to launch further services in the coming months targeted at a range of special interests.

Aggregator will enable its customers to watch programmes on demand and, where appropriate, automatically download content off-peak to ensure high quality downloads and minimal disruption to the broadband network.

"The changing television landscape has brought non-traditional players into the digital media industry, offering specialist content in tune with customers' needs," said Martin Goswami, co-founder and chief executive at Aggregator.

"As part of offering services over the internet, it is essential that we work closely with ISPs, and we are delighted to have already started this process with Freedom2Surf."
