Small and medium sized businesses in the London area can now benefit from a new 100Mbit/s fixed-line fibre offering from network provider Easynet Connect.
The company said today that it is offering the new service to businesses within the M25 in order to meet the growing demand for bandwidth and services like cloud computing.
Chris Stening, managing director at Easynet, claimed that the service will guarantee high-quality, reliable and unlimited internet access.
"We have seen unrelenting growth in web-based services in the past few years and, for many firms, access to the internet is vital for day-to-day business. This new fibre rollout will help to meet this demand," he said.
The fibre can be upgraded in the future to avoid companies having to replace entire systems as speeds improve, the firm said, and there are no restrictions or limitations on how the service can be used.
"With the internet becoming integral to businesses operations, there is no reason for us to limit what we let them use the fibre for. So it can be used for everything from issuing IP addresses to service and data storage hosting," Stening added.
Easynet also confirmed that it expects to roll out the fibre to areas outside the M25 if it sees sufficient demand, and is asking firms outside London to register their interest on the company's web site.
The fibre connections will cost £15,000 per year, plus a £5,000 installation charge. Easynet said that the usual installation time is 40 days.
