Videoconferencing firm Mirial has launched a new desktop videoconferencing solution designed to help companies make the most of existing infrastructures without the need for additional technology purchases.
ClearSea draws on the vendor's 10-year history in the space to offer customers in the healthcare, enterprise and education markets a full HD desktop client and the ability to connect to any legacy device. This removes the need for additional H.323/SIP Gateways or Firewall/NAT traversal appliances.
The ready-to-use product is easy to deploy and manage, featuring a centralised directory, user group management, integration with Active Directory/LDAP, and full remote configuration capabilities, according to Mirial.
ClearSea offers native support for all major videoconferencing standards, and enables customers to connect local and remote desktop users across firewalls and to SIP or H.323 legacy conferencing room systems, without the need for any external gateway or bridge, said Mirial.
It also embeds a video interactive voice response application, and features an autoscan capability for finding existing room systems.
"We have been working on ClearSea in stealth mode for over a year, leveraging on both our client-side and server-side technology, as well as on our experience in the software desktop video market since 1999," said Cristoforo Mione, vice president of marketing for Mirial.
The product is available as a physical appliance and as a VMware-based virtual pppliance, the latter combining the flexibility of a software-based approach, and the plug-and-play benefits of standalone hardware appliances, explained Mirial.
