A Chinese factory worker who became an internet sensation after a photo of her flashing a peace sign was left on an iPhone has been identified.
The photo was left on an iPhone delivered to a British customer who posted it on an Apple message board.
The image has since gone around the world and people have tried to identify the mystery worker.
Foxconn, which makes the iPhone for Apple, has now confirmed that the girl has been identified, and said that her job is not at risk and has called the incident a "beautiful mistake".
However, the girl herself is more than a little perturbed by the reaction to the picture.
"She is just a young girl who has come to the city from her remote hometown. She is never been in such a situation," a Foxconn representative told the South China Morning Post.
"She is really scared by the media. She told me she wanted to quit her job and go back home to get away from this. We let her off work today so she could rest."
Do you agree?
IPhone Girl in China is given good OPPORTUNITY
When this sweet and wholesome young girl came to the city, she desired to do some proper kind of work, and she desired to be paid well. Perhaps she has a lot of pride in the decent country life she had growing up. Now many people are happy to see the picture of such a sincere Chinese young person. It is only wisdom for her to make a small video of herself speaking to all of us about good things which we need to consider. She is a good ambassador for Home Grown Organic Gardening; for wholesome Natural Fibers; for Home Based Lifestyles; and for Integrity. She should carefully ask trusted family members or friends and find out how much to be PAID FIRST to allow a copy of her personal video out to the world. She should make sure that she IN WRITING continues to have the ALL RIGHTS to her own video, and she should ONLY SELL A NON-EXCLUSIVE RIGHT TO show A COPY of the video; and she should probably ask for millions of dollars -- at least! Also, I suggest that she donate a tenth of the money she makes to her home area for education or roads or whatever she wishes they had more of; and to donate a tenth of the money to a Chinese place outside of her home area -- a place she feels compassion for the people; and that she build a good sustainable home at her home city, with solar electricity, and solar hot water, and small wind electric machines like they have at Gaviatos community in Colombia, and lots of greenhouses on the south side of the home, and lots of glass on the west and east sides for extra heat in the morning and afternoon, and baffled radiator vents near the ceiling and floor to dispel the stale air at the hottest or coldest, etcetera; and that her country ask her to tour the whole world as an Ambassador for Peace. In this way, lemons become lemonaide, and everyone is found very wise for turning the situation around for good.
I am sure that everyone will be careful from now on.
Even so, these pictures have done good for world peace. They allow people to notice that in very different countries, there are nice people which would make good neighbors.

Fun and funny... on the assemble line?
If the FoxConn assembly line is THAT unsecure... it's scary. A virus could have been just as easily install on the next 100000 iphones. That picture could have been an obscene one. And a host of other problems.

I'm not surprised....
If I were in her shoes I would be pretty taken back by the amount of internet/blog attention that this one little mishap has gotten.

iPhone Girl's fifteen minutes of fame
I think she looks like a doll with a great smile. I doubt if it will boost her career, but she'll sure have a wonderful story to tell her kids when the time comes. I think it's a great goodwill story that may bridge some gap between the China and the Western world. I wish that employee the best of luck and hope she can cope with her newfound and probably short celebrity status.

iPhone girl scared by attention
Good luck to her she looks super and would no doubt have a well paid job in modelling, TV, or movies in Europe or USA.
She is shy but that adds to the attraction and I wish her well.
