Russian scientists have claimed that time travel could take place this year as an inadvertent by-product of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) run by Cern.
Mathematicians Irina Aref'eva and Igor Volovich said that when the LHC begins to smash atoms into each other the conditions will be perfect to open a wormhole into the distant future.
"Proton-proton collisions at the LHC could lead to the formation of time machines (space-time regions with closed time-like curves) which violate causality," said the scientists in a research paper.
"One model for the time machine is a traversable wormhole. We argue that the traversable wormhole production cross section at the LHC is of the same order as the cross section for black hole production."
The other possibility, according to the mathematicians, is that miniature black holes will be formed under the French and Swiss countryside.
However, if the time machine hypothesis is correct we will not be seeing visitors from the future because the wormholes will be barely larger than atoms.
The LHC is the world's largest scientific instrument, consisting of a 27km loop 100 metres under the French and Swiss countryside. It is due to go live later this year.
Do you agree?
Hi
I think this could be done with what I've seen and I wish this would happen too

This is how i find Time Travel possible
First you need three sites
Site number 1
Site number 2
Site number 3
The first site number 1 you will make the wormhole
When you go in the wormhole and come out the other side you then need to to to site 2 in site 2 you will have a big bang full of energy after that you will leave that site and go to site 3 then you will have another big bang full of energy .After that you will leave site 3 and go back to site 1 and go in the wormhole back to site 1 to the present . After that you can go to all the site?s which are where you was before
And life will be ok as it all way?s is

Dont Do It!
Are these people willing to threaten billions of live to see into the future what does this do for us we make the future, if you create mini black hole you could destroy earth for good earth will be crushed into a size of a basketball and possibly be stuck in time who knows dont do it! I enjoy my life.

Nice...
I really love Science Fiction. Don't you?
All jokes aside, SF has given us many real advances in science.
Don't dream it, be it.

first time on site.
Time travel has already been done; it is us up there. We are the men in the suits; a form of us anyway. Nasa has pics of life on earth from millions of years ago. how? There is only so much that the real government will tell us. By the way there are two governments: the one that we know and the one that handles all of the stuff that we can't or aren't supposed to know.

paradox
if in the future the large hadron collider makes time travel possible then people will only be able travel back as far as the point from when it becomes active so surely as soon as the machine is working then wont we instantly get a huge influx of time travellers turning up? and also i dont get the whole its destroying itself from the future coz if it exists in the future then it obviously wouldnt be unable to destroy itself in the present?

Russian scientists?...
These guys sound like clowns, we will not create time travel with the Hadron Collider. Also, the only black holes we will make will be the size of protons and dissapear instantly. Don't let the media hype you all up that we are going to die, think about it, it's insane.
The Hadron collider is a good thing, and if scientists are corrects, WILL give a better understanding, if not THE understanding to the UNIVERSE.
