If you are listening to a radio or television broadcast using your computer and want to archive it, this is the program for you.
You can use Total Recorder to record any sound made by your PC back to your PC. It will pick up streamed audio from your media player, as well as recording from the CD drive, the microphone or any other device plugged in to the computer.
A scheduler allows you to set up Total Recorder to start and stop recording at times you are not there - great for recording radio programmes for later listening.
Unusually, an audio converter is included for converting files to WAV, WMA, MP3 or Ogg Vorbis.
This trial version restricts you to a maximum of 40 seconds of recording.
Do you agree?
Utter rubbish, buyer beware.
Don't touch it with a bargepole. The drivers don't work with Windows Vista and will cause your PC to freeze. Also, the company does not give refunds if the software doesn't work and their support is very poor. Tried it on three different PCs and the same thing happened - every time I tried to run the software, my screen wnet blank and the computer hung.
If you want to record streaming audio, I recommend Replay Music instead - this is a fantastic product which works "right out of the box", has lots of useful features and costs less too. It's a shame I had to find out the hard way by wasting my money buying Total Recorder. I have tried everything to get my money back but they just plain refuse, saying this is not "company policy." In this day and age, that's an arrogant, rip-off mentality.
