Bizarre behaviour
Is this any good? Dunno - didn't get that far. Having scanned the download I ran the installer. First thing that happened was my current firewall flagged a warning that the installer was trying to access MySpace. I put a stop to that and, a few seconds later, the installer itself flashed a message that it was trying to access a remote IP address. At that point I cancelled the download and binned the thing.

Wary of this program!
I tried it and its rubbish! It slowed my computer to a crawl and then constantly locked up. Then to add insult to misery it took ages to remove. After numerous attempts to uninstall I had to use system restore to get rid of it. To be honest I have become so worried by this download that I have now carried out a total format and reinstall of my computer to ensure that I've got rid of this awful piece of software.
vnunet.com comment: PC Tools software is some of the best around and this is completely legitimate. However, remember that security software works differently across each PC and it might simply clash with another security app on your computer. You can't, for example, have more than one software firewall on your computer.

Problems with PC Tools Firewall
Used PC tools firewall 3.0 for a long time with no problems. PC tools 4 (downloaded oct 24 2008), resulted in problems on my XP pro system. Initially worked fine, then after two reboots noted:
1. My wireless connections were no longer detected.
2. Tried to uninstall but had difficulty as system froze. After rebooting it may have only partially uninstalled, but now is apparently gone, as I have my wireless back.
I liked the GUI and I was pleased with the organization of the thing, but what am I going to do? I'll try 5.0 when it comes online.
I'm a B+ level in terms of all things computers. Nothing special about my relatively new system.

What are you going on about
There is nothing at all wrong with this Firewall, its user friendly, works well and unlike Zone Alarm it wont slow down start up.
