This is the software publisher's description.
Advanced monitoring tool for Windows that shows real-time file system, Registry and process/thread activity. It combines the features of two legacy Sysinternals utilities, Filemon and Regmon, and adds an extensive list of enhancements including rich and non-destructive filtering, comprehensive event properties such session IDs and user names, reliable process information, full thread stacks with integrated symbol support for each operation, simultaneous logging to a file, and much more. Its uniquely powerful features will make Process Monitor a core utility in your system troubleshooting and malware hunting toolkit.
This major update to Process Monitor adds real-time TCP and UDP monitoring to its existing process, thread, DLL, file system and registry monitoring. You can now see the TCP and UDP activity processes performed, including the operation (e.g. connect, send, receive), local and remote IP addresses and DNS names, and operation transfer lengths. On Windows Vista, Process Monitor also collects thread stacks for network operations.
Do you agree?
Processor Monit0r, destructive
when I saw that this was a 'Microsoft' item I thought, TRUSTED.
Since I downloaded it I have had nothing but trouble. I cannot even find it to delete it. It does not open in any way. I have now stopped downloading from PCW.
vnunet.com comment: Process Monitor is a legitimate product and has a trusted following. It's also offered by every download side, worldwide. Please do not blame the magazine for a personal bad experience.

re: Processor Monit0r, destructive
That is totally false. This new update makes it even better. I'm using it for years and never had a problem, one of the most usefull softwares in my toolkit. It's not an easy piece of software though. Your problem is that you don't know it. It doesn't even install, just unpack and run. If you want to remove it, just delete files that where unpacked (if you remember where you put them).
