The Abyss Web Server is a small server aimed at cross-platform computer users who simply want to set up a basic web server that will serve other Internet users. As it’s cross-platform, you can configure the same web server across Windows, Mac and Linux platforms.

This free web server isn’t lacking in features, either. For instance, it supports HTTP/1.1, dynamic content generation through CGI scripting, native ASP.NET support without further extensions, password protection, bandwidth throttling and so much more. If security is an issue, there’s an automatic anti-hacking feature, too.
