Many of us use applications such as iTunes to store and manage our audio, whether we purchase and download music from the iTunes Music Store, or whether we extract audio tracks from our CDs.
With the recent UK ruling that we’re allowed to make one legal backup of our media (CD and DVDs) for personal-use, there’s no reason why you couldn’t use a manager to store your DVDs on your hard drive. With each movie DVD requiring 4GB of space, a 400GB hard drive will store 100 DVDs, making this a practical move. You could then hook up your computer to your TV and play your movies directly from the computer, on demand.
Griffith is a movie collection manager application. Adding items to the movie collection is as quick and easy as typing the film title and selecting a supported source. Griffith will then try to fetch all the related information, such as the original artwork, from the Internet, saving you the need to scan in your own artwork.
Better still, Griffith is a cross-platform application and is known to run on Windows and Linux systems.
Note the download here is for the Windows platform. You can download Griffith for other platforms from the homepage.

Can't get download to work
THe file downloaded OK but the program fails to start. I've tried to download the program from both the Griffith site & the Comp Active site with the same failure results.
When the 'Launch Griffith@ button is pressed the following message appears:
"The proceedure entry point ?PyWinObject_AsHANDLE@@YAHPAU_object@@PAPAXH@Zcould not be locatedin the dynamic link pywintypes25.dll.
Any advice
I've used the previous version of Griffith but latterly it has failed to find movie details on line so I tried downlaoding the newer version.
