Generally speaking, the Add/Remove Programs tool, built-in to Windows, doesn’t remove every trace of an installed application. It relies on the installed application to uninstall itself, reversing the install process. This works in some instances, but when the original installer writes files to your System folder, your Registry and leaves read-only files in the installation folder, it can cause problems.
Some rogue software companies might not actually want you to completely remove their software. For instance, commercial trial applications are designed to work for 30-days from installation and, when you attempt to install in the future, the software realises it has been previously installed.
The ideal scenario would be a third-party tool that enables you to monitor the files an installer is placing on your system and then removes these files when you want to uninstall the application.
Total Uninstall is a tool that performs this function – it helps monitor any changes made to your system during the installation of a new application. It allows you to perform a complete uninstall without having to rely on the supplied Add/Remove program which can leave files or changes behind.
Total Uninstall creates a snapshot of your system prior to installing a new application. It then takes an additional snapshot after the installation has completed. It then compares the two snapshots and displays all changes in a graphical tree view, marking all registry values and/or files that have been added, changed or deleted. Total Uninstall saves these changes and if you decide to uninstall the application, it will reverse the changes to the previous state.
Do you agree?
Absolutely Brilliant
Never wrote about software before, but this program really works to perfection. Does exactly what it says, totally uninstalls and leaves no trace. Very user friendly. First uninstall program I have used without any problems. Thanks

Total Uninstall 5.7.0
PRODUCT DOESN'T DO WHAT THEY CLAIM.
Use ZSOFT UNINSTALLER or REGSHOT (BOTH FREE)
Does this program scan the entire registry? NO. It scans 2 out of 5 Registry Hives by default and another if you set it to do so, not to mention the MANY EXCLUDED KEYS. FACT.
In the options menu under Monitored Programs-Scanning Profiles-Default-Registry Tab you'll see only:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
HKEY_USERS
Open Microsoft Registry Editor and you'll clearly see that there are 5 registry hives:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
HKEY_USERS
HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG
Prior to version 5.x, were "MAJOR UPGRADES" Free? NO. Only until recently 5.x was the author forced to give people "One Free Year Maintenance Period". FACT. If you bought version 4.9.5 and version 5 came out a day later, you would have to buy the product again.
If you don't believe me, find a program with a 30 trial period, install the product with Total Uninstall with before and after snapshots, wait a couple of days, uninstall the 30 trial program with Total Uninstall and then Re-Install the program. You'll find that you have 28 - 29 days left on your trial. If it removed all registry traces then the second time you install the trial program you would have 30 days left on your trial.
