AARON is a cybernetic artist-cum-screensaver developed by a guy named Harold Cohen which creates fine art paintings using artificial intelligence.
Paintings are created remarkably quickly and each time AARON paints the finished product is unique in its composition. On completion of a painting it is automatically saved to a user-specified location (up to a maximum of 16) before another one is begun.
Although AARON is only an experiment in artificial intelligence the results are quite impressive, particularly due to the fact that each painting is completely unique.
The paintings are definitely closer to abstract art than fine art but, considering that they are created by an inanimate object, the results can't be mocked.
AARON can also be run as a standalone application which offers you the possibility to print finished paintings.
