Saving and backing up files is one thing, but sometimes what you need to recover is an old version of a file.
File Hamster monitors folders and makes backups of files when they are changed. Even more useful is the option to add comments to backups; when the file changes File Hamster automatically prompts for a descriptive comment.
More advanced features include the ability to ignore certain files in a folder or allow time between revisions. This helps reduce the number of backups made when saving frequently.
It is also possible to force a saved revision if you feel it is needed, before making a major change to a document.
