<p>Looks like a evo to me so is this basically the Evo for the rest of the world.</p> <p>I hope they improved the 720p as the Desire does a terrible job at it, the galaxy s is a far better phone for that sort of thing and having a dedicated gpu makes it far better than snapdragon's internal one.</p>

<p>It sounds nice.</p> <p>I bought a Hero about 4 Months ago presuming it would have the Android 2.1 update by now, I'm still waiting and have already been told by HTC that to get to 2.2 I'll have to trade in my Hero for another handset.</p> <p>Great since I still have the phone on contract for another 20 months.</p> <p>Add to that a complete inability to hold signal (even requiring 4 resends on something like a Text message or FB status update) I'll be upgrading alright.</p> <p>Samsung Galaxy looks nice.</p> <p>Basically I've gone from a 2-time HTC buyer to a "Anything but HTC".</p> <p>Bearing in mind their lousey customer services anyone who thinks "Hmmmm, a HTC looks like a good buy" needs their head examining.</p> <p>-AS,<br /> Former HTC Evangelist, now Anti-HTC.</p>

<p>It was only inevitable HTC would release another device pushing the boundaries of mobile computing. Because that's what it is, no longer is a mobile platform restricted to technical specs. Android answ its road map will see that all mobile phones support the bare minimum of 1Ghz snapdragons, and 720p capabilities.</p> <p>I'm writing this from an updated Hero 2.1, and the improvements one (delayed) update can do to this device ensures that the snapdragons can pull of more than is capable. Today we hear Apple have release a new software update, a few lines of code, as described might be the cure for the notorious "death grip", however it has the tough challenge of answering to Android 2.2.</p> <p>Open source is here, Linus back in the days started it, maybe Google will bring it to its well deserved podium place within the mainstream, its a noble yet testing task, let's see if Gartner and Informa research have their eggs in the right basket.</p> <p>Android - 2012 Market Leader. </p> <p>adstronix@gmail.com</p>

<p>The graphics chip in the HTC Desire was proven to be a lower end version compared to the Samsung Galaxy S, so if they're using the same chip for this then it's not good news for good gaming on the device.</p>
