Specs for the HTC Desire HD or HTC Ace as it may be known have been reported in various quarters, but HTC would not confirm or deny rumours when contacted by V3.co.uk.
Judging by the leaked specs, the Ace will be a significant improvement on the HTC Desire as it upgrades the majority of the key areas.
The touchscreen is anticipated to be 4.3in, which would make it 0.6in bigger than the current model.
HTC is expected to release the device with Google's Android 2.2 OS and the camera will be boosted from 5-megapixels to 8-megapixels allowing 720p HD recording, reports suggest.
The Ace is also expected to feature Adobe Flash 10 support, SRS Surround Sound and an e-book function.
Internal memory will be upped to a meaty 4GB and a micro-SD slot will support another 32GB, according to the leaks.
This would make the overall capacity significantly greater than the present Desire, which supports micro-SD cards, but only comes with 512MB of internal storage.
Strangely though, the Ace is expected to run on the same 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor as the Desire. If this turns out to be the case, HTC is clearly confident that the CPU is capable of running the improved spec without sacrificing speed.
