Byte Night 2009 board finalised

Byte Night, the UK IT industry's big charity event, is starting to gain momentum once again with some of the biggest names in the business signing up to this year's board.

For those of you who missed my earlier blog on the event, Byte Night is an annual event that sees people from across the industry sleeping rough for one night in winter in locations across the UK to raise money for Action for Children.

Last year around 500 of us braved sub-zero temperatures to raise just shy of £470,000 for this worthy cause and this year, recession be damned, we're aiming for the half-a-million mark.

Dion Smith, printing sales director at Dell and a member of this year's Board put it very well, saying: "Just because times are tough, does not mean support should wane. This year's board are more integral than ever to maintaining the high standards set in previous years, and I'm proud to be part of it."

Each regional event has its own Board and these men and women devote their precious spare time to helping shape the event and ensure targets are hit. This year's London Byte Night Board is as follows:

This year's event is to be held on 2 October and I'll be there again, but this year I'll have a video camera to hopefully capture some of the more entertaining moments.
