Piracy, privacy and processing power set to be hot topics for V3.co.uk Summit

Have you got a burning desire to quiz experts from the fields of privacy, piracy and processing power? Well, here's your chance, as we're about to launch our first ever V3.co.uk Summit on the subject of Information Overload, in association with IBM, and we've invited in a whole host of industry leaders to discuss the hottest topics around the data explosion, and answer any questions you might have on the key issues your IT department is facing.

We'll be speaking to Jim Killock of the Open Rights Group on illegal downloading and online piracy, getting his views on how best to deal with copyright in the internet era. Richard Thomas, former Information Commissioner, will also be coming into our studio to discuss data protection and how to make sure that all the information which organisations are now storing does not impinge on individual privacy rights.

We'll be hearing from Alcatel-Lucent's Neal Tilley about the strain that all this data is putting on our telecoms networks; and Intel will be sharing its views on how new processor technology will be better able to handle the extreme amount of information being created.

On the security side, Scott Totzke, head of global security at BlackBerry maker Research In Motion, Dave Rand, chief technology officer at security firm Trend Micro, and Howard Schmidt, president of the Information Security Forum and former white house security advisor, will all be sharing their opinions on how they think firms can best keep all their information secure.

We'll also have an hour-long Ask the Experts session on Thursday 12 November from 11am - 12pm. Join Tony Hulme and Richard Killen from the Information On Demand unit of IBM's Software Group for a live online Q&A session, where you can quiz them on subjects such as data governance, information silos and unstructured content.
