Android and iPhone use growing in the enterprise

  • Tweet this

New figures from enterprise mobility software firm Good Technology offer yet another interesting snapshot into the growing corporate use of the iPhone and Android handsets.

The vendor announced that more than 1,000 enterprises have deployed its Good for Enterprise solution for the iPhone and over 30 Android devices since its introduction in December 2009.

Hard data on corporate use of these handsets is notoriously difficult to come by, so it's interesting to see the increasing enterprise use of what were originally billed in many cases as primarily consumer handsets.

Good's customers include 20 of the Fortune 100, according to the firm.

Unsurprisingly, most popular with Good customers is the iPhone, which dominates the top five handset models. In top spot is the iPhone 3GS, followed by the regular 3G model. The Motorola Droid comes in third followed by another Android handset, HTC's Droid Eris, and then the original iPhone in fifth.
