Three announces contract free iPad plans

  • Tweet this

Mobile phone operator Three has become the latest in the UK to throw its hat into the ring with iPad monthly price plans, but unlike its rivals is set to offer its customers contract free devices.

The operator's charges will be £7.50 a month for 1GB and £15 for 10GB - prices which easily undercut those of most of its rivals. For example, Vodafone and O2 both charge £10 for a 1GB data plan, while Orange's 10GB package is £25.

More attractive still for customers may be the option of canceling their Three plan at any time.

"Three is pleased to offer competitive data plans for iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G in the UK," said Marc Allera, sales and marketing director at the operator.

"Our network, the largest in the country, has been optimised for the mobile internet, ensuring our customers enjoy the very best mobile performance on iPad."

Presumably the firm is pretty confident that users are going to quickly grow attached to their iPads and not be of the view V3.co.uk was, that it "doesn't replace anything, and ties into Apple's view of the world".

Three will be offering customers the plans from Friday.
