Ok so a poll has shown that women are far more interested in gadgets than many first thought; huge pat on the back for coming up with that conclusion ten years too late.
Frankly we are disappointed that our sister site Gizmodo had to go to such great lengths for this to come out.
Yes there is still a gender divide in some industries such as hair and makeup, (how many guys know what GHD stands for?) and cars (how many girls blame their other halves for the smell a catalytic converter makes?). However, the technology gap is closing as quickly as your other halves wallet when he see’s the price of the Gucci bag you want.
Gizmodo is definitely on the right tracks when it comes to girls and the gadget market and guys should take note of their wise words- pink is patronising and mentioning menstrual gadgets (do they even exist?) will give you more slapped cheeks than pats on the back.
What guys and gadget sites need do to do is give us a bit of TLC- Technology Loving Comments.
We can’t deny we don’t like pretty shiny things, what girl doesn’t? But instead of lumping us with products that are fluffy and cute, treat us the same as you would the guys and give us comments that relate directly to the technology of the product rather than the exterior. If you do this we are far more likely to read it and listen to our other halves when they talk to us.
To the men who complain that their other halves don’t have an interest in gadgets, if you let us play with them once in a while without moaning about us scratching the screen or pressing the buttons too hard, and spent as much time with us as you did playing the latest game then maybe, just maybe, we would begin to respect rather than resent the world of technology.
And one last thing- to those guys who shy away from admitting they are gadget geeks we think its more sweet than freak so stop hiding behind your lager lout mates/disguises and talk technology.

I've to say that I concur with all the sentiments about getting AOL as variety 1. The comments posted along aspect it sum it up properly, that it does nothing at all to strengthen the model, but only adds confusion.Out of the top rebrands inside the l ist, I'd put SyFy on the top. In the beginning I hated the title, since I thought they did it ??just for the reason that,??? when the fact is they had to alter their title as a result of being unable to legally use Sci-fi.??? Now relatively than coming up having a whole new identify that no one would know- and maybe shed a good deal in the currently built in SciFi??? brand- they stuck together with the aged name that has a bit of phrase play. I can even now call SyFy Sci-fi when it comes up, and that would make me satisfied.

I just realized that Blimpie was noton the worst l ist. It really could be the absolute worst of 2009. Such a m issed opportunity. And quite often non-designers say they could do what we do - in th is situation, nevertheless, they would be right.

Very well, not to repeat the hating on aol, but th is is in all probability essentially the most d isappointing l ist to date. On equally sides. How can El Banco Deuno and aol be around the greatest l ist, and then bash artwork directors club? I really did nothave an issue with that redesign, along with the collateral was looking rather excellent. You understand what need to happen to be around the l ist for worst logos? New York Philharmonic logo. My hatred of that logo burns in my chest to th is day. The name of the designer behind that logo will be the only cause for any of its achievement. The most beneficial l ist the year is pretty mediocre for me.I like Mary Shu is remark about her alternatives for the finest l ist a little bit superior.

Hands down, Apple's app store wins by a mile. It's a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I'm not sure I'd want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

Posted by: North Face Tech Pack 24 Jan 2011

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod's. It works well, but isn't as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that's not an issue, but if you're planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod's larger screen and better browser may be important.

If you're still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you'll know which is right for you.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like 'Mixview' that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you're listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of "neighbors" will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune "Social" is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

Maybe in the future it'll do even better in those areas, but for now it's a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod's strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It's very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass' favor.

If you're still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you'll know which is right for you.

Between me and my husband we've owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I've settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it'll do even better in those areas, but for now it's a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod's strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that's not an issue, but if you're planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod's larger screen and better browser may be important.

Posted by: cheap rosetta stone 21 Jan 2011

If you're still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you'll know which is right for you.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass' favor.

I have to say that I concur with the sentiments about having AOL as range 1. The comments posted along aspect it sum it up properly, that it does absolutely nothing to strengthen the brand, but only adds confusion.Out of the very best rebrands inside the l ist, I'd place SyFy in the top rated. Initially I hated the name, for the reason that I thought they did it ??just mainly because,??? when the fact is that they had to change their identify resulting from getting unable to legally use Sci-fi.??? Now somewhat than coming up which has a complete new name that no one would know- and potentially shed a good deal of your by now built in SciFi??? brand- they stuck with all the outdated title which has a bit of word play. I can even now call SyFy Sci-fi when it arrives up, and that makes me satisfied.

I'll gear this review to 2 types of people blog: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

Posted by: Tyson F. Gautreaux 04 Nov 2010
