Negroponte talks up the $100 laptop

  • Tweet this

Delivering the opening keynote at LinuxWorld in Boston today, Nicholas Negroponte talked up his $100 one laptop per child project.

The project has been blasted by both Intel and Microsoft. "Then you know you're doing something right," Negroponte quipped.

The project isn't about a laptop, Negroponte stressed. Computers allow children to learn at a pace that teachers can't provide - especially when teachers themselves have only a limited education.
