1155 OK, Show's over. Shaun will write up the full news story and there'll be a comment piece up on the site tomorrow. It's easy to get caught up in enthusiasm after a cracking performance like that so a pause for cogitation is needed, and a closer look at the device. Really good to see Steve back on form. Now if he'd just put on a little more weight he could kill the health rumours.

1154 Big round of thanks to all Apple staff. Looks like they've pulled a blinder.

1153 Apple at intersection of liberal arts and technology. Fox News will have fun with that.

1147 Video break. Thank goodness, hands hurting.

1146 iPhone users get software upgrade to iOS4 for 3G and 3GS users, but no multitasking on 3G model or iPod Touch.

1145 Showing off accessories. Case called the Bunker, correction Bumper plus a new docking station. New iPhone available in black or white.

1142 iPhone pricing. $199 and $299 for 16 and 32GB versions in US. On sale from June 24th. I see queues forming very early. Shipping to US, UK, France, Germany and Japan. Preorders start tomorrow.

1139 Facetime will be an open standard. I really hope so, this could kick-start videoconferencing into the mass market if it's done right.

1137 Wi-Fi only this year until deals with mobile providers can be sorted out. Given the state of AT&T's network in the US then the increased video data load could be catastrophic for call dropping.

1136 Video calling app dubbed Facetime. iPhone to iPhone, via Wi-Fi, minimal setup. This could be huge boost to iPhone 4 sales. no wonder Wal Mart dropped the price of the 3GS to $99.

1134 Another appeal for the Wi-Fi to be turned off. Maybe Apple needs some screening devices for the stage.

1133 Video conference on iPhone 4 with Jon Ive. Crowd goes wild.

1132 One more thing...

1130 Some bloggers have pointed out that Cisco may own the rights to IOS brand.

1129 Jobs has just put up his email address (sjobs@apple.com) Brave man, I suspect a lot of drunk emails will ensue. Wonder what his private email address is?

1127 iAds been selling already. Nissan, Citi, Unilever, AT&T, Chanel, General Electric, Gieco, Campbell's Soup and Sears signed up.

1125 iAds, new framework to let developers make free apps and still make money from apps. Apple addressing it's core install base on the App Store.

1123 Apple now has 150 million credit card accounts. It sound a bit creepy to be honest, but shows that there's a market.

1119 iBook now totally cross platform - iPhone, iPad and iPod. Can transfer same book free between devices. Hopefully that will get Kindle moving.

1115 100 million iOS4 devices will be sold by end of this year. Huge market for developers.

1113 Well Apple's not playing favourites with search. Google, Bing or Yahoo available.

1110 iPhone gets multitasking. About time too!

1108 Renaming iPhone operating system iOS4. Quick dig at Larry Page dissing multitasking.

1105 Jobs explains crash. Over 500 Wi-Fi hotspots in the room. That's a lot of Evos. asking for laptops to be switched off. Good luck with that.

1103 iMovie for iPhone $4.99 from App Store.

1100 Randy Ubillos, chief architect on stage for iMovie on iPhone demo. Showing video editing on the iPhone. Nice, but I wonder how many will use it. There's also only 32GB of storage...

1058 5MP camera that records HD video. It's not all about the megapixels Steve says. Tap to focus feature looks good but not that different from the Evo.

1053 On to the camera. New system it seems.

1051 It's got a gyroscope! Allows six axis movement control with the accelerometer. Games developers are going to have a field day with this.

1048 Big cheer when the A4 chip confirmed as used in handset. Developers like grunt in their hardware. Battery life improved, 10 hours of Wi-Fi use. 32GB of storage.

1045 Resolution of 960x640 on a 3.5in screen. That 78 per cent as many as on an iPad. That's going to make some iPad users feel a bit annoyed.

1041 Network fail during New York Times demo, excellent. It's not a proper demo unless something goes wrong.

1039 Pixel density increased 4x for better graphics. 326 pixels per inch, more than human retina - must check that. Calling it retina display. Damn but that looks really good. Very noticeable improvement. More power to its e-reader capabilities as well.

1034 Thinnest smartphone on the planet, 24 per cent thinner than 3GS. Glass front and back with steel rim. Front facing camera, second camera and flash on back. MicroSIM tray included.

1032 iPhone 4, as expected. 100 new features! "Some people have already seen this," says Steve to a laugh. It's an absolutely gorgeous bit of kit however. I can hear 5,000 people salivating in the room.

1030 iPhone has 28 per cent of US market share and over half of all browsing. Couple of digs at Android - Steve knows where the competition is. Stats from Nielsen.

1029 Right, on to the iPhone.

1028 Apple may take 30 per cent cut from developers for App Store but has paid out over $1bn since launch. Music to many attendees ears.

1026 Steve's back. He's looking really quite good, a lot healthier than before and certainly with more energy. Good to see.

1023 New app number 3 - Guitar Hero. Going to be a lot of iPhone users rocking out if they do that right. The app's new strumming methods mention sound oddly dirty. $2.99 t you governor, available today.

1020 Now it's Zynga's turn - Farmville for the iPhone coming soon. Going to do a Snow Leopard animal to buy just for Apple. Well, that and the fanboy dollars I expect. That beast will sell like hotcakes.

1019 Netflix boss on stage. Free Netflix app coming soon and it'll be free.

1017 eBay says its iPhone app did $600m of business last year and it expects over a billion this year.

1016 Top reasons for app rejection: doesn't do what it says it does, uses private APIs or crashes a lot.

1014 Moving to App Store. HTML5 will be supported and anyone can write apps in it. Among the audience that's probably true. But Apple leading HTML5 integration? I imagine some people at Mozilla might have something to say on that front.

Around 15,000 apps sent to the store a week, about 95 per cent get approval in seven days.

1011 iBooks gets an update. This could be interesting for the tablet e-reader market. Note taking, new bookmarks and PDF support added.

1006 iPad update. One is sold every three seconds in forst 59 days he says. Will be on sale in 19 countries by end of July.

1002 Enter the Steve. Standing ovation. As expected.

1000 Say what you like about Apple, it does a wicked sound and light show.

0958 Lights down and everyone please turn off their cell phones. No thanks seems to be the response.

0945 Everyone's settling down for the keynote. Interestingly a number of people are using their Android phones to set up wireless hotspots. I wonder if we'll see similar capabilities today?
